Dr. Mona Shangold provides women''s health care in a private office setting in Philadelphia --- including routine GYN exams, evaluation of GYN problems, and advice about most women''s health issues. She specializes in gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, and women''s health ---- with an emphasis on menstrual problems, hormonal problems, menopause, and sports gynecology.
We try to provide you with the best possible care in a friendly and comfortable environment. We encourage you to ask questions, and we take the necessary time to answer your questions and educate you about your medical problems. We value your time as well as ours, and we try to see all patients in very timely fashion, without compromising thoroughness.
Because we understand that it is often inconvenient to visit our office (taking time off from work and dealing with transportation, city traffic, and parking issues), we now offer our patients the option of secure ONLINE CONSULTATION through our website --- for all questions and problems that do not require examination or testing.
You can select from the options on the left menu, including Appointment Requests and Ask a Question. To ask Dr. Shangold a medical question, first select Ask a Question in the left menu, and then select Ask Dr. Shangold.
To request a refill for a current prescription, first select Ask a Question in the left menu, and then select Request Prescription Refill. This feature (Request Prescription Refill) should be selected only to request a refill for a prescription you are currently taking (if you are on your last refill or if you want the prescription sent to a different pharmacy, etc.). If you are on your last refill, please schedule an appointment, since we would have provided enough refills to last beyond your expected next appointment --- running out usually indicates that you are past due for an appointment. When you select Request Prescription Refill, be sure to provide all of the necessary information in your request (pharmacy name, pharmacy address & location, including zip code), and pharmacy phone number. We need all of this information in order to process your prescription refill request, since all prescriptions will be sent electronically.
To discuss any change in your current medication (because of side effects, cost, etc.), you should select Ask Dr. Shangold or schedule an appointment to discuss why you want to change your medication, what the options are, what the consequences of any potential change will be, and what management will be needed following the change. If cost is an issue, you should obtain a list of your prescription plan''s formulary (listing the various tiers for the various options) and should bring this to your appointment or fax it to our office if you have selected an online consultation instead.
Select the option Provide Information only to send our office specific information we have requested from you. We are unable to reply to this option. If you request a reply, you should select the option Ask Dr. Shangold instead.
To save time and expedite all office visits, we encourage you to complete your preregistration forms in advance at home (by selecting Health Forms on the left menu). If you aren''t sure whether an online consultation will suffice or an office visit is necessary, we will let you know in our reply to your online question. We are confident these new online features will provide a welcome convenience to you!
In our practice, the total patient is our primary concern, and we pride ourselves on providing personal and friendly care. We are dedicated to fully educating you about your health needs, and we strive to be your partner in health.
